As a novelist of historical fiction, I love to do the research that
goes with it! Sometimes you have to be a detective to do this work, and at times you may hit a brick wall. But
with a little imagination and creativity, you can overcome most any roadblock. What I love most about this genre of
literature is the way that I am often transported to another place and time. Good historical fiction should always leave
a reader feeling charged. It should take you to places that you have always dreamt about and imagined. To me,
history comes to life through the pages of a well written, well researched book. And there's nothing like getting
lost in the life and times of a favorite character, or a couple who love with such passion and intensity that I have to close
my eyes and take a deep breath!

Through Tempest Forged
What happens when a family is thrown into the tempest
of a newly emerging nation? Will they succumb to the uncertainty of their time or will they be resilient, indeed, triumphant?
The year is 1775, and the world is on fire with the
seeds of rebellion firmly taking root in America...
Through Tempest Forged will take you there.
Feel the passion of Elizabeth and Paul Rogers in a stirring tale
of love, lust, honor, dishonor, treachery, deceit, and political intrigue...A very engaging story with shocking twists and
unsettling turns, where life and death are constant companions, where nothing and no one will ever be the same.

Welcome...
My name is Barbara Passaris.
I am a writer. Writing is my passion. I have been writing for most of my adult life. As an educator,
I have long been involved in literacy education. I work in a community of writers. Sharing my work is what I do best,
and I am also a public speaker. I am the author of educational materials, short stories, and poetry. I am a novelist.
I live and breathe history as the amateur historian that I am. I am hard at work on several projects, including two
other novels, and a collaborative effort of short stories. I am most proud of my published novel, Through Tempest
Forged, an historical fiction set in colonial Virginia at the onset of the American Revolution. My plans are
to follow the Rogers Family of Virginia in a series of books that will take them through the birth pangs of the United States
and its struggle to establish itself as a nation, with a culminating book of their progeny who live during the Civil
War. There will be lots of romance, humor, drama, and history brought to life!
